What People Are Saying:

Thanks from Latin Student Union of WWU – Nathan and Lecie were featured performers for the 4th Annual Latin Heritage Dinner

Azita, Thank you so much for connecting me with Nathan and Lecie! I got rave reviews from everyone at the dinner. Everyone was blown away by their performance! Could you please forward my thanks on to them? We will definitely keep you in mind for next year's performance. Maybe we could have them perform some of their other dances. Once again, thank you so much! The whole night was a success! Thank you, Holly Vanderlinda Latin Student Union of WWU

U & Me Dance My future husband and I took lessons for salsa and loved it. We also watched a professional dance arrangement that was held there and it was FABULOUS! I am going to book them for my wedding so that the rest of my extended family and friends can benefit from this much needed lifestyle. Dance is part of our soul and they make it very obvious. Thank you to U & Me Dance for their ongoing expertise. Feb 09, 2009 Mary Ellen Husby

The teachers training course at the majestic was an awesome and very insightful experience. The training was intense very fast pace, so you got to stay on your game. The best thing about getting involved in the teachers training course is how detailed it gets. In the training course the thing that helped my dancing the most was how I had to learn lead and follows parts it just made the dance just flow a lot better for me because I got to feel what my lead needs to feel like, so the follow knows what to do. I would highly recommend this course if you want to push yourself to a higher level of dancing or looking into dancing as a career. -Kenny Sweet Bellingham, WA

When I first moved to Bellingham I would walk past the Majestic on Thursday nights and peak in at the crowds inside. The music always drifted across the streets mingled the laughter of partygoers. I was nervous, having never danced before, and unsure of what to expect, but I finally decided to see what all the fun was about. Within seconds of walking in the door I was greeted by warm and friendly faces and staff. A minute in the door and Nathan had come up to me and asked me to dance. Despite my protestations that I couldn't dance, Nate smiled, told me to just step 1-2-3 and relax. To my shock and delight I was suddenly Ginger Rogers! When I left after my first party, I'd learned to dance five dances passably and felt like u and me was home. Days later I purchased an introductory package and from then, there was no returning. A warning to all who are curious: you will get addicted! Since then it has been two and a half years. I have worked on social, performance, and competitive dancing. Dance has become my social, spiritual and physical outlet and U&Me has become my family. I am so grateful to both the staff and all the students for sharing their passion and excitement with me. Each class is tailored to the levels and goals of the students involved for incredibly personalized attention. Nate always pushes me to achieve my personal best, with an uncanny blend of professionalism and fun. No matter how hard I work, Nate reminds me to smile. And no matter how hard something is, Nate presents it in a way that is concise and clear. If one explanation does not work, he will find twenty more until something clicks. Because of this, he can work with almost any kind of learner and take any dancer beyond his or her limits." Adella Thompson, Bellingham, WA

Hello Mary, Lecie, Toni, Nathan and Azita, Just wanting to thank you all again for the warm reception I received on Friday. I had a great time at the party. Your students were all very nice and friendly and I am sure that can be credited to you all for the type of atmosphere you create and encourage at the studio. Mary and Lecie I really appreciate you taking the time out of your evening/dinner break to chat to me. It really did help to get some idea of how you guys went about finding your path and then the challenges and highlights of getting there. Although I am finally free of the burden of not knowing what to do with my life; in exchange comes the uncertainty of success and knowing how to make it happen. Genna F. New Zealand

We just received our DVIDA results and we are very pleased with the results. I just want to thank you for your help and support and to let you know that I could not have done so well without you. You are really an amazing instructor, dancer and person. I am so lucky to know you. So thanks again. My best to Azita and hope to see you both next year. Love,

Great Fun!!!

My partner and I just recently started dance lessons at U and Me Dance without any prior ballroom experience. We are very pleased with the quality of instruction, personalized attention and choices in the various dance genres offered. Our dance sessions have heightened our relationship and have added fun and enjoyment to our lives. I highly recommend this wonderful service to anyone!

"The BEST dance instructor I’ve had"

And I’ve had 3 total to compare. Nathan is a wonderful instructor for beginners and advanced students. He is very skilled in finding a place where he is challenging you and yet not overwhelming you. His lessons are very fun and you definitely get the bang for your buck every time! I really hope that if you’re looking for a dance instructor, you will choose Nathan. You won’t regret it! Although I have to warn you - every teacher you have after him will seem lame in comparison! Cindy Larsen Burlington, WA

Wonderful for everything ballroom! U & Me Dance is a wonderful studio for everything ballroom. Over the past year, my son has taken both private and group lessons improving his dance technique immensely while deepening his passion for dance. Nathan Simler and Lecie McNees not only maintain their own professional competition schedule consistently winning awards around the country, they are invited instructors around the world and provide wonderful examples for enthusiastic dancers of all ages. They, along with Mary Evans-Simler, know that delicate balance between making it fun and feeding a youth’s passion for dance while simultaneously instilling the essential elements of a good dancer. It is the perfect balance of fun and learning. From posture to extension to expression my son’s dance has improved by leaps and bounds. Both Toni and Azita at the front desk are extremely professional, kind and filled with all kinds of helpful dance information from where to get shoes to music selections, costumes and everything in between. The group and private lessons along with Friday night dances and seasonal shows create a wonderful sense of community at U & Me Dance that is hard to beat. I recommend them for sure! “Dance lessons??? But you’re 76 years old!” Well, yes, I am – but it’s such good exercise. Of course, I could be sweating in a gym somewhere, jumping up and down or trudging on a treadmill – but it’s so much more fun to get my exercise circling a dance floor , trying out new steps with a smiling partner (at least, until I step on her toes – but I’ve found that partners seem to forgive everything except metatarsal fractures and shoulder dislocations…) And it’s even more fun, when there’s such a great place to go dancing right here in Bellingham – U & Me Dance, at The Majestic, an impeccably maintained hall with appealing décor, where they offer dance lessons every weekday, as well as an evening of dancing plus a lesson on Fridays, and practice sessions with a brief lesson on Thursdays.

The quality of instruction in the classes is excellent, so even I manage to learn new steps there. And visits to The Majestic are also especially enjoyable, because the people who go there are so nice – with ages ranging from middle school kids, all the way up to me. It isn’t necessary to go with a partner - everybody dances with everybody, a lady can ask a fellow to dance, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and it’s an ideal spot to meet people and make new friends – indeed, we’ve made a number of good friends there, whom we now socialize with at the Majestic and elsewhere, too. So, as long as I can still circle the dance floor at The Majestic, I think that’s where I’ll get my exercise…. -John Connell. Bellingham, WA

Azita and Mary, Please extend a warm thank you to you and your crew for all your help this past weekend. Our event was a HUGE success and a large part of it goes to your entertainment that you supplied during the event. You did a great job with crowd interaction and your dance to Amarillo by Morning worked out wonderfully. Thank you again, if you ever need a reference please pass out my name and phone number. You guys really helped add a special touch to this event. Thank you,

When I made the decision to follow a dream of mine to learn to dance, I was concerned about the availability of studios and qualified teachers in our small community. Then, I found Nathan Simler and the U & Me Dance Studio. Nathan is highly qualified, and very skilled. His teaching method is comfortable and precise. It is obvious to me that he enjoys what he does very much. Nathan has the patience of a saint, yet he never lets you get away with anything. (This is an important quality in a teacher, in my opinion.) He's observant to a fault, and no detail escapes him. He not only wants you to dance well, he makes you want to dance well. Nathan also has a very warm personality, and yes....he can take a joke. Our community is lucky to have him. Lilac1963 – Online review
